Claire Mason Emala was born to Ashley and Jason by C-Section at 6:23 AM on Monday, December 6, 2010. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. at birth (3.175 kg.), and she measures 18.5 inches (47 cms). She has some rather dark flyaway hair on her little head, and while at this point it is a bit hard to tell, she looks like a composite of her mom and dad. She is a tiny little beauty, and while we were visiting, she was very calm and alert.
Everyone is so thrilled that Claire is finally here, and she can look forward to a wonderful life full of love, laughter, adventures, and a bit of spoiling by her BiBi and Pop and all of the rest of her large extended family!
She is a very lucky little girl to have Ashley and Jason as her parents for they are two of the smartest and most together people we know. They will do all in their power to give Claire just what she needs to become an exemplary young woman. It will be so much fun to watch them on the roller coaster ride that is parenthood, and we will always be ready and willing to lend a helping hand or a bit of advice when needed. While being a parent is the most challenging occupation one ever has, it is also beyond a shadow of a doubt the most wonderful, rewarding and satisfying.

Not a cry just the beginnings of a yawn, although it looks like she might be trying to yodel or perhaps burst into song :-).
Here she is intently listening to her BiBi's advice about the ways she can be good to her mom and dad i.e. sleeping at night, taking naps, limiting meltdowns, and not being TOO messy.
Pop has her in prime relaxation mode.Are we proud parents and grandparents, or what?!
