Darunam

Friday evening we were given the priviledge of attending the gala benefit honoring The Wilma Theatre's 30th Anniversary and its founders Blanka Ziska and Jiri Ziska. Held at the theatre and then at the Ormandy Ballroom next door, the evening featured abundant food and drink, dancing to a great DJ, a silent auction (where we picked up some fun items), and performances by some amazing singers and musicians. From the moment Manu Narayan began to sing "The Last Angel on Earth", and Radovan Jovicevic began to play his guitar, "Darunam" held me captive as a new fan!! Their music has been variously described as World Fusion Jazz Neo Pop Rock and more, but it is really of a genre all its own and so incredibly appealing. We were able to talk with both Manu and Radovan later in the evening and found them as delightful and appealing as their music.
I encourage all of my readers to open their ears and minds to their music. You just might become a fan as well.

For the past week it has been cool with rain falling almost all of the time. That taste of summer at the end of April was marvelous, but we have certainly paid the price ever since. Even the moss is sprouting moss due to all of this dampness. When will the sun decide to shine again?!
