The great curse of William Penn has been lifted, at least for tonight!!! The Phillies won the World Series with an exciting 4-3 finish in the only game to experience a 46 hour rain delay in sports history. There is an incredible amount of celebrating going on in the city tonight. Horns are blowing, fireworks are exploding, people are shrieking, bells are ringing, and that is just in our little neighborhood. The intersections in Northeast Philadelphia and around the stadium in South Philly look like Times Square on New Year's Eve. This city will not sleep tonight!
The great ticker tape parade is set for Friday, so one of Dale's co-workers told him today. Season ticket holders were privy to that information just in case of a win. I WILL be out there on Broad Street with camera in hand to capture all of that incredible festivity. Wouldn't miss that for the world!!
What a season! What a series! What a night! What a team! The Philadelphia Phillies!
